Rai-Rai Ken (SM Megamall)

Rai-Rai Ken is a ramen restaurant and sushi bar. The first Rai-Rai Ken I ate in was in Robinsons Galleria, and it was a pleasant experience. I forget what exactly I ordered but I do remembered it was filling and delicious. Me and beloved went there today for lunch.

I found the prices to have steepened by quite a bit. It's a bit understandable with the current situation of our economy, though. Anyway, I had a coin toss between Sharksfin Ramen (210 Php) and Beef Sukiyaki Ramen (205 Php), and the beef won. I was also craving for raw fish, so I ordered Salmon Sashimi (260 Php). Beloved ordered Seafood Hot Pot Ramen (150 Php), and we both ordered Red and Green Iced Tea (both at 50 Php, non-refillable) respectively.

Banchetto (Ortigas)

Beloved and I went with a company of friends to Banchetto last night. Banchetto is a once-a-week food fair located at Emerald Road, Ortigas, on Saturday 0:00 hours up to 11:00 am, and yes, that's Friday 12mn. We've wanted to go here for the longest time, but beloved's schedule didn't allow us to do so until today.

Anyway, if you've read the last paragraph, Banchetto is a food fair. There's all kinds of food to be found here. Most are grilled stuff, Filipino favorites, or canteen-style foods, but there are also selections of desserts, pastries, and practically anything you can find in a blue-collar plate. Since there were so many stalls around, I decided to not specify them. It's impossible to scour the entire place in one go for someone with a small stomach like me. The smell alone was enough to fill up your appetites. But I did try out a lot of stuff. Oh, and I apologize if the pictures came out a bit dark, it is a night food fair after all.

Curry Curry House (SM Megamall)

Today, my beloved was craving for curry. Since we were on our way to Ortigas, we decided to have lunch at Curry Curry House. We discovered this place at a PPF event during one of the early days of the Atrium. This isn't the first time we've eaten here, but the number can be counted with one hand. Their specialty is Japanese curry: meat in curry sauce served over rice.

Every time we go here, I order the same meal. For 295 Php, you can order the "Super Bento Meal". It consists of a curry rice meal with the meat of your choice (I always order the Crispy US Beef for a reason, I'll expound on this later), miso soup, salad, fried breaded tofu, and a couple of orange slices. As with all of their other meals, the rice is eat-all you-can. However, unlike the rest of the menu, this meal comes with bottomless iced tea—a 70 Php value for this store. Ordering the Crispy US Beef curry alone would cost 220 Php, so with this choice of meat, this meal's a bargain.
